Marina Safety
At Ocean Village Marina we take safety very seriously. Therefore please read the following guidance notes which set out our basic safety procedures.
Speed Restrictions
Please observe a DEAD SLOW speed limit and do not create excessive wash within the confines of the Marina. There is a speed limit within the Marina of 3 Kts.
Pets
Please keep pets on a lead at all times when they are in the Marina or on the pontoon. Do not allow them to foul the Marina or the surrounding area.
SOS Stations
SOS Stations fitted with a life-buoy and fire extinguishers are strategically positioned around the pontoons. Please make yourselves aware of their locations.
Fire Drill
-
Raise the Alarm
-
Inform the Marina Office
-
Clear the area of people who may be in danger and in particular those who are downwind of the fire.
-
Tackle the fire only if it is safe to do so.
Insurance
It is a requirement of Ocean Village Marina that all vessels berthed within the Marina have a current insurance policy with third party insurance cover to the value of £1 Million.
Falling In
There are fixed ladders at one end of each pontoon. Ensure that you know where they are situated.
Repairs
Berth Holders are welcome to carry out minor running repairs on their craft, subject to the mooring terms and conditions. Any berth holder wishing to engage an outside contractor to work on his or her craft should take this into account: Contractors should be directed to the Marina Office for approval and to register in the Tradesmen Visitors’ Book. In addition, contractors should be able to satisfy Ocean Village Marina requirements regarding insurance, namely the possession of a third party liability cover of at least £1 Million.
